2021 seems like everyone is rushing to buy them, and 2022 will also be the year that all industries will embrace NFTs.
Last year, NFTs officially went mainstream. That’s not news. However, the natural progression of this trend has brought the market into a new phase of adoption – active participation – doing what it can.
king of asian pop
On January 1, the NFT collection “PhantaBear” supported by Jay Chou, the Asian pop king who has appeared in movies such as “The Green Hornet” and released more than 8 platinum pop albums, was launched.
According to DappRadar, a collection of 10.000 NFTs dubbed “PhantaBear” sold out in less than 40 minutes – beating the likes of Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and Doodles on the weekly leaderboard.
“For the first time in history, an NFT series has topped the global sales charts in such a short period of time.
Each algorithmically generated digital collectible from the “PhantaBear” series doubles as an Ezek Club membership card – a perk that provides access to the entire Ezek virtual world, including tickets to virtual concerts, access to premium venues, and more .
Pulitzer Prize Winner
Meanwhile, the Associated Press (AP) announced the launch of an NFT marketplace built by blockchain technology provider Xooa.
The platform will feature the news agency’s award-winning contemporary and historical photojournalism, including Pulitzer Prize-winning AP-winning images in the inaugural series.
“For 175 years, Associated Press photographers have documented the world’s biggest stories through gripping and poignant images that still resonate today,” said Dwayne Desaulniers, director of blockchain and data licensing at the Associated Press.
“With Xooa’s technology, we are proud to make these tokenized works available to the rapidly growing global audience of photographic NFT collectors.”
The initial series, which will include NFTs themed around space, climate, and warfare, was announced to be released in the weeks beginning January 31.
While containing a rich set of original metadata, each NFT will let collectors know the time, date, location, device and technical settings used for the photo.
NFT prices will vary, according to the news agency, which guarantees that “as a nonprofit news cooperative, proceeds will be repurposed to fund true and unbiased AP news.”
The marketplace will support secondary transactions and purchases using credit card payments and crypto wallets including MetaMask, and will add support for Fortmatic, Binance, and Coinbase.
The Associated Press revealed that NFTs will be minted on the Polygon blockchain, while calling the blockchain an “environmentally friendly, Ethereum-compatible layer 2 solution.”
US congressional candidates
Meanwhile, Democrat Shrina Kurani, who is running for a California House seat, and Republican Blake Masters, who is running for an Arizona Senate seat, have both started offering NFTs as incentives for campaign donors.
“Many thanks to the SolSea NFT team for making this happen, and Solana for building an energy-efficient chain so we can drive innovation in web3 in a sustainable way,” Kurani wrote on Twitter, offering NFTs as campaign merchandise — hopefully Gain the support of the younger generation.
former first lady of the united states
Recently a newcomer to the field is trying to get out of the loop quickly.
No one should have thought that she turned out to be Trump Melania. Last month, the former US first lady auctioned off one of her digital paintings, titled “Melania’s Vision,” for a SOL.
Mrs Trump then decided to stay involved and posted a new photo of herself in white, with a starting bid of just 1,800 SOL, equivalent to $245,556.

Culture and identity are closely intertwined concepts, one can only appreciate the woven pattern, not the thin threads of its composition. All means of store of value carrying symbolic meaning are involved in the creation and transformation of both.
However, due to their uniqueness, NFTs are unraveling as a very special thread. Great for wrapping multiple facets of complex identities – individual, group or collective, and society. Therefore, NFTs are expected to gain unprecedented traction without adding anything.
While “utility” is still a buzzword, minting NFTs is not only a way to keep up with market trends, but an act of building one’s own image.
