MacRumors has found the suspected next-generation 16-inch MacBook Pro in a Chinese regulatory database, further proving the credibility of the above plans. The list, submitted by Apple supplier Xin Wanda Electronics on April 14, is a battery with a model identifier A2527 similar to Apple’s model number, with information indicating a voltage rating of 8693mAh/11.45V. According to iFixit, this is similar to the current 16-inch MacBook Pro battery, rated at 8,790mAh/11.36V .
If the information is accurate, the next-generation 16-inch MacBook Pro will have a slightly lower battery capacity than the current model, possibly due to the rumored flatter design of the new laptop. However, the 16-inch MacBook Pro’s transition from Intel processors to more power-efficient Apple chips could mitigate any potential impact on battery life.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that a redesigned MacBook Pro model would be released as early as this summer, while Jon Prosser expects the MacBook Pro launch to be part of WWDC next week.
