According to businessinsider news, advertising will also fly to space in the future. Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), a Canadian startup that provides technical services, pointed out that it is making advertising in space possible with the help of SpaceX.
GEC CEO and co-founder Samuel Reid (Samuel Reid) said that the company is building a satellite called CubeSat. Reid said that there will be a pixelated display on one side of the satellite, and advertisements, signs and artwork will appear on the screen. The company plans to load the CubeSat on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which will put it into orbit and release it before the rocket reaches the moon.
After entering the track, the selfie stick installed on the side of the CubeSat will take pictures of the display. These videos will be broadcast live on YouTube or Twitch so anyone can watch the satellite screen. Reid said that CubeSat will be released in early 2022.
According to Reid, to advertise on the CubeSat, people must purchase cryptocurrency to locate and design the pixels on the display. Currently, Reid cannot disclose the cost of CubeSat. In addition, SpaceX did not respond to related interview requests.
In fact, as early as June, it was reported that GEC paid SpaceX the entire cost of Dogecoin to launch a CubeSat to the moon on the Falcon 9 rocket. The mission was called “DOGE-1”. At the time, GEC did not disclose how much Dogecoin it paid to ensure the mission. The company stated that they will use Dogecoin for future missions performed on SpaceX launch vehicles. Musk also posted related tweets.
Interestingly, it’s not just SpaceX that has various associations with Dogecoin. Musk’s enthusiasm for Doge goes far beyond that. Previously Virgin Galactic announced that the company will try to conduct a space flight test on July 11, and founder Richard Branson will take the space flight. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos plans to travel in space through his company Blue Origin on July 20. Subsequently, Musk replied in the Twitter of Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson space program in July this year: Can I pay with Doge?
It is worth mentioning that Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously stated at The ₿ Word conference that he personally owns Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. Tesla and SpaceX hold Bitcoin. Since SpaceX is privately owned, it was previously unknown that this space exploration technology company also holds part of the cryptocurrency.
