Polkadot 0.9.0 has been released! This is a higher priority version, please upgrade your nodes as soon as possible! https://github.com/paritytech/polkadot/releases/tag/v0.9.0

This release contains client-side changes that will allow parallel chains to work correctly. This means that once all nodes are successfully upgraded to this version, the parallel chain functionality will be officially deployed on the Kusama chain. It also integrates Beefy and MMR (Merkle Mountain Range) in preparation for the Poca-Ethernet bridge, as well as the Poca-Kusama bridge that Gavin mentioned earlier (which, once connected, allows 1% of the DOT to be transferred to the Kusama network) and other cross-chain bridges.

On the topic of runtime, the runtime numbering scheme has been standardized for Westend, Kusama and Polkadot. 0.9.0 includes a native runtime of “9000” for all of these networks.

For node runners, this release introduces client-side changes necessary to run parallel chains correctly. You must upgrade to 0.9.0 before the next runtime upgrade, otherwise your nodes will not be able to synchronize.

So far, over 83% of the vote is in favor, but referendum #23 (with the addition of an additional Authentication Officer) is currently in a failed state (https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referendum/23)! This is due to extremely low turnout – adaptive group bias means that the lower the turnout, the higher the absolute majority needed to pass the referendum. Due to the upgrade of v30 runtime, the minimum pledge amount on the polka is now 1 DOT (https://polkascan.io/polkadot/democracy/referendum/22#votes). The number of nominees in the polka network has increased to 18,496!

Other than about the v30 runtime upgrade, some third party wallets are not reading the chain data correctly after the recent runtime upgrade and show that your account has more DOT. this is a UI bug and the balance on the chain is not affected.
