International venture fund Draper Dragon invests in ambitious MU project

International venture capital fund Draper Dragon has made a sizeable investment in the MU project; an ambitious technical, financial and publishing platform that enables Web 2.0 game developers to rapidly convert their new and existing games to Web3.

Draper Dragon’s commitment brings the total investment to $2.1 million. As of April 28, 2022, MU tokens have been listed on Huobi Exchange.

Richard Wang, Partner at Draper Dragon, commented: “As an investor in games, we believe that MU has the ability to change the gaming industry through Web3 design. Based on a decentralized data network, users create value and own value.”

MU will also be renamed Lemuria as it evolves into an ambitious Web3 infrastructure platform, including technical, financial and publishing support. At the heart of Lemuria’s product will be basic game design guidance to ensure developers can deliver the full benefits of Web3 to their most powerful game elements.

Lemuria will also provide financial services to issue tokens, support NFT pre-sale and obtain funding, and will expand into decentralized publishing services. The first game to be released is Hyborea Awakening, a play-to-earn (P2E) card battle game that launched in early May and currently offers initial NFTs on gate.io.

“An organization that exists to serve game developers”

Monte Singman, CEO of Lemuria, said: “We want to help bring the traditional gaming industry to Web3 and provide everything developers need. Lemuria will not only be able to support in-game NFT exchanges and in-game wallets, but also control all of these elements. Dashboard, also able to support basic game design assistance to bring real game innovation to benefit the Web3 space and vice versa.

“I want to create a decentralized publishing service where no one is the boss. Instead, we break down the function of a game publisher into working with passionate partners around the world, with the goal of creating an organization that serves game developers.”

Singman is a game industry veteran with over 36 years of experience. From initial roles in series like Madden, Street Fighter and Test Drive, he has since founded several Nasdaq-listed companies and studios. Singman is also a veteran of game licensing in China, including the Monument Valley, Gardenscapes, Homescapes, Toy Blast and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises.
