Create a wallet in 7 easy steps with the Polkadot.js browser extension.

If you want to participate in the Kusama Derby, then first you need to create a Substrate wallet for yourself to use on the Kusama test network and get the ZBP token, the Zeitgeist Battery Park test network token.

In this article we will use the Polkadot{.js} browser extension to create your wallet address.

To create a wallet via the Polkadot{.js} extension
Click on polkadot.js/extension to jump to the download page

Choose the extension that corresponds to your browser

Install extensions

Find the extension in the upper right corner and click on it. Read the message and click on “Understood, let me continue”.

Click on the middle “+

Record your seed and store it somewhere safe. Do not share this seed string with anyone. Check the checkbox to confirm that it is safely stored, then click Next step

Enter a username and security password, then click “Add the account with the generated seed”.

Note: All Substrate wallets have addresses that start with the number 5.

It’s that simple and now your Substrate wallet is created.
