A key feature of the Internet computer platform is the Network Neural System (NNS), an open algorithmic governance system that oversees the network and token economy, thus making it possible to build DeFi, dapps, open Internet services and enterprise systems that operate at hyperscale.
The purpose of the NNS is to allow Internet computer networks to be managed in an open, decentralized and secure manner, where it has full control over the entire content of the network.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Upgrading the protocols and software used by the nodes that host the network.
Creating new subnets to increase the capacity of the network.
Splitting subnets to share their load.
Configuring economic parameters that control how much users must pay for computing power.
Protecting the network from malicious behavior in extreme cases.
Performing many other functions.

Access the wallet and NNS at https://nns.ic0.app/ (if it does not open, please change your browser). Below is a quick start guide to the NNS application and its main features. Currently, the application gives users access to the following four main areas.
Creating an Internet Identity
To log in to the NNS application, an Internet computer identity is required. If you do not have such an Internet identity, you will first create one. The Internet Identity is built by DFINITY, a new and more secure single sign-on solution designed specifically for Internet computers. The code is open source: https://github.com/dfinity/internet-identity.
- Because Internet Identity uses some hardware features, you need to use a device with face recognition, fingerprint recognition such as a cell phone, or have Yubikey hardware ready.
- Copy the link https://identity.ic0.app/, it may take some time to load, please be patient; because some browsers do not support wasm, if it fails to load please switch browsers to enter again.
- Click “Register with Internet Identity” to create a new account.
Enter your device name (for later management), then click “Register”, select your authentication method after jumping to the page, click “This device” for fingerprint and face recognition, or click “USB security key” for Yubikey. Click on “USB Security Key”.
4、Click “Comfirm”, and then verify again.
5、Congratulations, you have completed the registration! Please remember your “User Number”, you will need it for subsequent wallet import and identity recovery!
6、Please save your identity on multiple devices, go to the same website https://identity.ic0.app/ from another device, click on “Already registered but using a new device? Enter the “User Number” you just entered, then copy the production link, open it on the device you just verified, and click Confirm to save your identity.
ICP & Wallet
Open the link https://nns.ic0.app/ and log in via the Internet identity you just used.
You will see the following screen, which is an example of an ICP wallet. Users can use this interface to create new accounts and sub-accounts, as well as to perform basic transactions such as sending or receiving ICP. the personal account address is derived from your main ID, but is different from the main ID. In the future, special hardware wallets can be used to authorize ICP transactions that will also be performed from this page.
1.ICP transfer, click on the main account to enter the wallet, then click on “New Transaction”, fill in the address in the wallet, you can send ICP tokens, or make a pledge of neuron creation.
2、To create a sub-account, you can create a sub-account from your master account by clicking “Add Account” and then entering a custom name. The sub-account is verified by the main account.
3、Participate in governance: Users can create and manage neurons in order to participate in network governance and receive rewards in the form of incremental tokens.
The first column of the page shows the status of “Identity”, “Status of locked ICP”, “Creation time”, “Creation duration”, and so on. “The second column of the page shows the current status of the neuron’s accumulated rewards.
