According to Similarweb’s statistics on the traffic of each centralized exchange website, we can see the ranking of the traffic of each exchange (data statistics date is May 9).
In the past 30 days, the ranking of centralized exchanges is as follows: Binance Coinbase Bybit FTX Gate ranks in the top five. (It is impossible to rule out the situation of fake brush volume)
In the geographical rankings, Russia, South Korea, the United States, and Turkey appeared the most frequently.
The top traffic from Russia includes Binance OKX and Huobi.
The top ones coming from the US include Coinbase Kucoin and Cryptocom.
The largest source of traffic comes from South Korea is Bybit (the second largest source of traffic is Russia).
Among them, Coinbase’s traffic sources are the most concentrated, with 54.6% coming from the United States. Binance traffic is very fragmented. The total proportion of the top ten traffic source regions does not exceed 50%.
After the implementation of comprehensive regulatory policies and the complete withdrawal of Huobi from China, only OKX (ranked second) is currently the main traffic source from China; however, it is worth noting that China ranks first among the traffic sources of options exchange Deribit, at 12.4%. It was followed by Hong Kong (9.8%) and the United States (8.5%).
Based on the traffic, it can be seen that Binance OKX and Huobi may face certain risks brought about by sanctions against Russia. As a non-compliant exchange, Kucoin has an absolute majority of traffic in the United States, and there is a certain risk of American regulation (the second and third largest traffic comes from the United Kingdom and Canada, which are also very regulated). OKX took away the market share of Huobi after its exit from China, and there may be risks of Chinese market regulation. As a derivatives exchange, Deribit’s traffic mainly comes from China and the United States, which are highly regulated, and there are undoubtedly certain regulatory risks.
In terms of social media diversion, the majority of imported traffic sources are Youtube, followed by Twitter.
It should be noted that Similarweb’s main statistics are website data, and APP data cannot be seen. Users in Asia and emerging countries may be more inclined to use the app.
