In the past week, the Metis Telegram group has seen amazing growth in users (from 26,000 to 59,000), and today we will have an open interview with the Metis team. The core content of this AMA is to introduce to you the subsequent plans of Metis, including the main online launch, MetisToken and other market concerns.

Moderator: Can you introduce the Metis team?

Elena Sinelnikova: My name is Elena Sinelnikova, and I am the co-founder of MetisDAO. I have a technical background and over 20 years of experience as a Microsoft Solutions Architect in the Canadian government and law enforcement.

In 2015, I started learning about blockchain. In 2017, my friend Natalia Ameline and I founded CryptoChicks, a women’s organization dedicated to blockchain education, which today has chapters in 56 countries/regions.

A few years ago, I met my two Metis co-founders, Kevin Liu and Yuan Su. We are partners in one of CryptoChicks’ educational programs. We worked together to develop the Token Economic Institute, the predecessor of the Metis protocol, and had a long history of working together before becoming Metis co-founders.

Now, the Metis team consists of 26 people from Canada, China, Ghana, Venezuela, Colombia, India, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Singapore, and some of the team members are here and they will introduce themselves.

Kevin: My name is Kevin, co-founder of Metis with over 5 years of experience in product development and I’ve been working on DAO, governance and decentralized collaboration since 2018. After meeting Elena and Yuan, at first we wanted to address decentralized and distributed collaboration and then realized that only Layer2 could support such collaboration and that’s how the Metis project started.

Elena: We also have Yuan Su as our third co-founder, who is the CTO and head of the development team at Metis. He and the development team are the biggest helpers of the powerful technology we are building, and we will have an intense discussion today.

Lya Glaentzlin: Hi everyone, I am a lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in business law, energy, securities, mergers and acquisitions, certified professional trust and estate practitioner, project manager, trained by EALDE Business School (Spain).

Jonah: Hello everyone! My name is Jonah, I am in charge of Metis operations and a frequent guest of our Telegraph panel discussions, and it is a pleasure to be here.

Pavel Sinelnikov: Hi everyone, I’m a Metis technology promoter, as well as a speaker, educator and blockchain developer. I specialize in making sure that Metis Ambassadors post content that is consistent with who we are and what we do in Metis. It’s great to be here!

Sheyda Lotfalian: Hi everyone, my name is Sheyda, I started working in digital marketing 8 years ago and now I’m in charge of Metis digital marketing analytics and I’m happy to be here.

Puneet: Hi everyone, I’m Puneet Kumar, Marketing Manager, with over 10 years of marketing and business experience in Nike, Mattel and other B2B and B2C brands, an alumnus of IITB and TISS, and happy to be here.

Moderator: My name is Norbert, I’m the Metis Community Lead and a member of the Metis Marketing team, I’m here to be your best friend and will always be here to help you!

Moderator: Can you give us a brief introduction to Metis? What usage scenarios does Metis support?

Elena: We’ve been working on building it, and this is just the beginning!

Metis is a platform where you can build your own blockchain, DeFi or NFT application, or even your own Uniswap without a developer. the idea is to allow everyone to do business via blockchain, regardless of technical background or blockchain knowledge. There are many barriers to people applying blockchain technology to real business, and Metis overcomes those barriers.

We are building Layer2 solutions to help users avoid high Gas fees, provide high throughput while offering all the privileges of blockchain such as trust, security and transparency, and also add rich functionality and a minimal learning curve.

In the future, you will be able to access the Metis platform to create your business with just two easy clicks to create a DAC (Decentralized Autonomous Corporation) and launch any of the following services: NFT casting and trading business, freelance business, social reputation business, investment business, etc.

You can also issue tokens in your business economy (also generated in just a few clicks), which can be crowdfunded and invested in to provide services to your users. The platform we are building is completely decentralized, so all business collaboration will be based on the reputation value each user receives on the platform. In addition, to prevent fraud, pledge and retraction mechanisms are embedded in our Layer2 solution, which means that deposits need to be locked in to prove good intentions before engaging in any business. Upon completion of each collaboration, the pledged funds are released along with incentive tokens and the reputation value is increased accordingly.

Moderator: What makes Metis different from its competitors? What is the breakthrough in Metis Layer2?

Kevin: Let me talk about this part. Right now, Metis Layer2 is our most powerful product. None of our competitors can match it, and several technology reviewers have confirmed this fact.

We are in the process of patenting our technology, and once the patent application is successful next week, all the technical secrets of our Layer2 will be revealed. As you know, people put up with high Gas fees and long transaction delays, which greatly hinder the development of DApps and the building of the Ether ecosystem.

Meanwhile, ETH 2.0 is just getting started, and the beginning of collateralization does not solve any of Ether’s current problems. Various Layer 2 solutions aim to reduce user fees and increase transaction throughput. But with Metis, we think outside the box. Beyond lowering gas fees and increasing throughput, we think Layer2 is still the wild west, and it has the potential to support running Web3 economies on top of it, but there is currently no off-the-shelf framework to support ease of use, extensibility, and microservices frameworks.

Compared to other Layer2 solutions, Metis is highly scalable (supports multiple VMs), versatile (microservices framework that easily extends the toolkit), highly available (EVM compatible) and self-sustaining (supports DApp communities to issue their own tokens) , and fully decentralized!

Metis also defines a new DAW structure – DAC (Decentralized Autonomous Corporation) as the basic unit of operation and management to support decentralized applications, communities and businesses.

Metis has a huge advantage over Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism.

Moderator: What are the major milestones achieved by Metis so far?

Elena: We released the Layer 2 Alpha test network at https://alphatest.metisdao.org and launched a demo application called “Prologue” to demonstrate the speed and low cost of Layer 2, so you don’t have to spend much Try testing and creating your first Decentralized Company (DAC) on Metis and we will reward the community testers.

The test has been running for 3 weeks and now 12,683 Wallets, 6,856 DACs (Decentralized Autonomous Corporations) have been created, with 166,859 Testnet transactions and 22,607 Layer2 Smart Contract Calls. advertising.

In the future, platform users can benefit from this. As I said, for those who are freelancing, they can already see the future of how things will work on the Metis platform. We also launched the first ever community-participated NFT campaign, Rebuild the Tower of Babel. 12,118 wallet addresses participated in the campaign, creating 2,560 tribes in 100 minutes, for a total of 1,204 complete tribes. Together we cast the NFT artwork and you can view the results here: https://tribe.metis.io/home

The artist and all 256 participating tribes shared in the auction proceeds and the NFT artwork sold for 16.1 ETH, a great return for all our community members.

Moderator: What are the further plans for Metis?

Kevin: The next few weeks are going to be very exciting because there are big things happening. We will be releasing a beta version of the Layer2 test network in mid-June 2021, and another release in late June 2021. We will also be making important announcements and offering a community rewards program for doing so. Stay tuned to our Telegram and WeChat groups to be the first to participate and get rewarded!

We have been continuously developing the ecosystem and have found some major partners, which are showcased on the metis.io website. Recently, Metis entered into a partnership with Opolis to build our freelancer/employer use case together using the Opolis employment system.

If you want to build a business on Metis and want to refer people who are building a blockchain business but can’t sustain it with high Gas fees, please have them fill out a request on metis.io. We are working with major global organizations that support sustainability goals, as our platform really does offer possibilities for those who are limited by traditional centralized systems. Everything will be announced at some future date!

The following is a free question session with questions from Telegraph Group users

Question 1: What is Optimistic governance (OG) and what is the difference?

Answer 1: (provided by Elena)

Optimistic Governance, or Optimistic Governance, is a mechanism that incorporates pledges, withdrawals and reputation values, which means that before conducting any business on the Metis platform, users need to pledge a reputation token (an NFT that records all reputation information) and a deposit to prove their good intentions. After each collaboration is completed, the system returns the pledged deposit and at the same time distributes the monetary reward to the user with the increased reputation value. This mechanism enables decentralized and optimistic governance and eliminates the involvement of intermediate parties.

Question 2: What is liquidity mining in the NFT market? How is the reward for mining determined?

Answer 2: (provided by Kevin)

If you are referring to the Tower of Babel NFT works, the NFT here represents the mining capacity, which users can accumulate by inviting others to join and trust their tribe. Therefore, when the liquidity pool is open, the system will calculate the number of Metis tokens you can mine based on the percentage of your mining capacity. This is like a community rewards program where users pledge and earn rewards.

Question 3: Hacking and scams are increasing. Can you provide some information about the security system and auditing of Metis? How safe is Metis for long-term investors?

Answer 3: (provided by Elena)

We have audited and obtained all smart contract certifications, and all of our systems have been tested by security testers and reviewed daily.

Question 4: Has Metis management given due consideration to the global nature of the project?

Answer 4: (provided by Elena)

Good question. Yes, we are creating communities globally, both in Russian and Chinese. You can see our Russian language community here – Telegram https://t.me/MetisDAOru, built by our ambassador and team member Yaroslav. We also have a large community on WeChat.

Question 5: How will the community help Metis?

Answer 5: (provided by Kevin)

Metis comes from the community and grows for the community. Therefore, we need your continuous support, including feedback and comments, to test our test network, various DApps. if you want to create collaboration on Metis test network, we will also support you 100%. We are always here with you and hope that all community members will benefit in the long run, so please let us know.

Question 6: How does Metis DAO participate in the Gig economy? Is there any partnership with the freelance platform so far?

Answer 6: (provided by Elena)

Yes! Gigeconomy is one of our highest priority application scenarios. We are not using traditional freelance platforms because we have a different focus. We will provide employment opportunities for those who do not have access to traditional platforms. We started working with a consultant, Lucia Gallardo, to serve the refugee community and provide them with employment opportunities. UNICEF and the United Nations are also on our list, and we have started working towards that.

Question 7: I would like to know what are the highest priority cases that Metis uses?

Answer 7: (provided by Kevin)

We have about 10 projects in reserve that we can build on Metis. We will be introducing DeFi, NFT and some user-centric applications, which means users can really have fun and experience the low cost and efficiency of Metis Layer 2.

Question 8: How is MetisDAO ahead of the competition in terms of mass usage, fast and hassle-free encrypted space?

Answer 8: (provided by Kevin)

We have strong Layer 2 technology that can outperform the competition. For example, we are often asked questions about how Matic differs from Metis:.

1) We support a full range of smart contracts in an easy-to-use way, not just token transactions and transfers

2) We have IPFS integration, so users can store and share files and data

3) We have a multi-chain construct (multiple VMs) that removes many of the bottlenecks associated with single chains

Question 9: What exchanges will MetisDAO be traded on?

Answer 9: (provided by Jonah)

You can buy and trade METIS on Gate.io now, and we are exploring the possibility of adding more exchanges.

Question 10: When will the Metis layer2 mainnet launch and when will developers be allowed to build on it?

Answer 10: (Provided by Kevin)

It is tentatively scheduled for the third quarter of this year, and developers can build on it from mid-June, when we will announce when applications will be open.

Question 11: How do you ensure that MetisDAO not only gets the attention of speculators, but also real users?

Answer 11: (provided by Kevin)

We will launch and support the launch of different DApps, and those DApp users can actually use and experience our technology in a way that is affordable and efficient, and we will include real users in our ecosystem.

Question 12: Does MetisDao support the repurchase of tokens for destruction? Are there any plans to increase the value of the tokens and attract investors to invest?

Answer 12: (provided by Kevin)

In our token economy design, users and builders need pledges to activate services on Metis. As a result, it is a deflationary model and the tokens have limited circulation in the market. Increasing the value of Metis tokens and buying back the destruction is just one way to do that, but the bottom line is how many projects are running on Metis and how many users we have, and that’s our main effort.

Kevin: Thanks for the questions, we have more exciting news and progress to come.

Moderator: Thank you all for the great questions and we are sure you all support Metis and will continue to grow with us.

Elena: Thank you, feel free to ask more questions and we will answer your questions carefully outside of this AMA. This is our first telegraph group AMA, and we hope to hold such events from time to time as the build and delivery of the project continues to progress.
