But after the project was officially launched, the evaluation fell directly into the gutter, and there was a lot of scolding.Currently, it has a rating of 2.2 on the Apple Store.

As a senior player of the Metaverse (only optimistic, not bearish), I played this APP for about 2 hours before and after (I did not experience the VR version), and went to most of the spaces where I can go. what it wants to do in the future, and where it might need improvement.

What is Xirong? The official statement is “a space for multiplayer interaction that spans virtual and reality and exists forever.” When you enter Xiyong, you will hear a background voice saying: “Welcome to this place without borders, start another life, here It’s Hiron.”
In a virtual world, you have to find some benchmarking projects, probably Decentraland, Minecraft, etc. Simply put, you can wander around and keep exploring.

The map of Xiyong is not big, and there are not many buildings with names. But if you walk around the circle around the map, it is estimated that it will take 30 minutes. This means that it has a lot of space and the buildings are not close together (characters can’t run, they can only walk). In addition, this map has 2 floors, which can be shuttled up and down by some elevators.

After experiencing Xiyong, combined with my personal experience, I have several feelings, which may be the four opportunities and models of the “revolution” of Metaverse business.
1. Future-oriented “digital brand marketing space”
This is the most obvious manifestation of the Blue Universe building. After entering this sky blue building, you will find that it is actually another “space”, a virtual block, which is very technological and even a bit cyberpunk.
At present, there are 5 brands staying here, namely Anta, Jinmao Hotel, Dongfeng Peugeot, Good Brewers Sijiufang, and Heha Beer.

According to Blue Cursor, in the future, users can browse the top trending products at home and abroad, experience unique and diverse interactions with different brands, and even participate in various “wool” activities.
This is very interesting. We assume that if Anta sets up a digital store here, users can receive coupons such as 100 minus 50 here. Of course, as a digital marketing space, Anta should design more interesting interactive gameplay and games. For example, come to a virtual fashion show, and then judge the winners, and then give coupons to the goods.
But at present, I have been shopping in this virtual block for a long time, and I have not found any interaction between these five brands, and their brand exposure is only reflected in the huge logo above the building. Rather boring.

During the experience, I entered the Nvidia building, and there were some interactions.
First of all, the walls in the building are full of video introductions, which can be played automatically when you stand in front.
Second, when I left the building, a raffle page popped up, which was surprising.

2. The “super venue” for online live broadcasting in the future
Is Metaverse live broadcast the same as Douyin live broadcast and TV party live broadcast? There is definitely a difference!
In December 2021, Xiyong hosted the Baidu Create 2021 Conference (Baidu AI Developer Conference), which was claimed to be the first large-scale Metaverse conference in China.

Baidu propaganda claims that Xiyang supports 100,000 people online at the same time, and allows people to have an immersive experience. Viewers who have watched this live broadcast will know that the live broadcast and viewing experience are very different from “regular live broadcast”.
For example, each audience member has a position. Sitting in the position, you can hear the voices of the people around you.
There have been no major events in Xiyong recently, so there is no way to experience it. But after entering the venue, you can see the video effects of the venue and the stage.

3. An open-world “social platform”
In Xirong, there is always pure music as the background music during the walk, but if you walk into certain scenes during the walk, new sounds will be triggered.

And if you approach some other player and he’s talking, then his voice can be heard. It’s a pity that not many people seem to use the cymbal, so I experienced it twice, and the chance of encountering other players is extremely low, even if I do, the other party doesn’t speak…
But it is conceivable that when 5 players enter a venue at the same time, everyone can communicate with each other. This is similar to META’s Horizon Worlds.
I imagined a scene, when we all walk into an exhibition of a digital collection, then we can discuss a certain digital collection. When I think of this scene, I am very excited.
4. Have fun and find interesting things
I spent more than 2 hours wandering in Xiyong, most of the time, I was wandering around. I have absolutely no idea what to see inside and how to play. But I have a feeling that maybe that’s the charm of it, wandering around and discovering new and interesting things.

For example, I like the architecture of Shaolin Temple very much.
The building rules of the Shaolin Temple are very small, with only one courtyard. A huge ginkgo tree (maybe) with some yellow leaves scattered on the ground. There are some stone tablets on both sides of the main road, but unfortunately, the words on them cannot be read clearly.
This scene is very beautiful, especially with the artistic conception of traditional Chinese architecture and culture. When approaching a table, a reaction was triggered, and a Zen language jumped out.

Further inside, up the stairs is a hall. There is a Sanbao monk inside. A reaction can also be triggered here, and the monk Sanbao starts to punch a set of punches, although it is only a few seconds.
Particularly impressive is Lynk & Co., which is similar to Lynk & Co’s virtual showroom in Xiyang. After clicking, the displayed cars will be displayed in 360 degrees. You can also click to switch the appearance color, which is somewhat similar to A 3D view of the car at Autohome.

It is said that in the future, Lynk & Co will gradually unlock new experiences such as online auto shows, new car launches, virtual test drives, virtual spokespersons, and digital collections in Baidu Xiyang. Currently there is none.
On the whole, there are not many interesting things in Xiyong at present.
As for Xi Rong, I read the reviews on the Apple Store, and many of the critical reviews were mainly focused on the lack of gameplay, lag in multiplayer online login, rough modeling and so on.
A very representative negative comment is: at least plan a 3D real scene like After Tomorrow, Wilderness Survival or Dawn Awakening. To put it bluntly, the current effect, the game DEMO of the 90s is better than this.
Some time ago, I played Mihayou’s open world mobile game “Yuanshen”. In “Yuanshen”, there are not only footsteps, breathing, but also the rustling of leaves blowing in the wind. Standing on the top of the mountain, watching the sunset change with time It’s really interesting to go and fall.

Compared with Xi Rong, Xi Rong is too bad. But on second thought, the core of a Metaverse like Xi Rong is not a game.Although, overseas Metaverse projects such as Decentraland and The Sandbox have built some mini-games. But I think the core of the virtual world under the Metaverse concept is the interaction with the real world . Lianmai interacts, watches exhibitions, shows, conference parties, and so on.
Xirong is not fun, Decentraland and The sandbox are the most fun and interesting Metaverses in the world. But I have to say that Xi Rong is the best Chinese project I have seen that matches my understanding of the Metaverse.

1. The core of the Metaverse is content and interaction. Xi Rong is not fun, largely because there is not much to experience. Contrast that with Decentraland, which has daily activity from different brands. At the beginning of the year, the Australian Open settled in Decentraland. During the opening period, users can participate in a number of tennis mini-games in Decentraland, and the winner can get the official NFT, which has inspired a large number of users to participate in activities. It would be a lot more interesting if, after completing some virtual test drive interactions in Lynk & Co Park, you can get official digital collections.
2. Too strong commercial smell. Most of the buildings in Xiyong are brand pavilions, which are too boring. There are too few interesting buildings such as the Shaolin Temple. It is reported that both Zhangjiajie and West Lake intend to make these two IPs into virtual worlds. In the future, can Xiyang have more such attractions and museums?
3. Hard to find traces of blockchain. Officials revealed that there will be no virtual currency or virtual asset transactions in the world of Greece, but Xirong has introduced blockchain technology. However, from account application to experience, I did not feel the blessing of blockchain technology at all. But digital collections are so popular, and there is a “Fengyu Building Digital Art Museum” in Xiyang, I believe it is only a matter of time.
