Nobel Laureate: Bitcoin Hasn’t Played Any Meaningful Economic Role

According to The Daily Hodl on May 24, Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman, a leading American economist, said bitcoin faces the same problem as gold in that it is perceived as money, but it is not being used as such. The economist went on to suggest that governments may crack down on cryptocurrencies more severely than they have in the past on gold, and that bitcoin and its related products have not yet succeeded in playing any meaningful economic role.
