Golden Finance reported that on February 10th, social gaming company Zynga announced that it will launch NFT and blockchain games. It is reported that Zynga intends to increase the size of its blockchain team from 15 to 100 people and launch an NFT-based game by the end of 2022. Zynga’s games will likely focus on players who hold large amounts of cryptocurrency (i.e. whales) rather than general entertainment games. In November 2021, Zynga hired Matt Wolf, vice president of blockchain games, and in January this year, US game developer and publisher Take-Two Interactive acquired Zynga for $12.7 billion to jointly explore Web3 opportunities.
