South Korean gaming giant Netmarble to issue cryptocurrency

South Korean game developer Netmarble announced its cryptocurrency and gaming revenue (P2E) strategy at a press conference on Thursday, including plans to issue its own cryptocurrency, Golden Finance reported. Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sik said the company is preparing to issue and list a cryptocurrency that will serve as the key currency for Netmarble games. Kwon added that Netmarble aims to relist ITAM CUBE, the cryptocurrency of blockchain game developer ITAM Games that Netmarble acquired earlier this month after it was delisted from Upbit, the nation’s largest exchange, earlier last year. It is reported that Netmarble has a market capitalization of nearly 10 billion US dollars, and they are deeply researching blockchain games and the Metaverse. (forkast)
