On January 22, global asset management giant BlackRock (BlackRock) is planning an ETF focusing on blockchain technology. The iShares Blockchain and Tech ETF will track the investment results of the NYSE FactSet Global Blockchain Technology Index, according to a regulatory disclosure on Friday. The index consists of companies involved in the development and deployment of encryption technologies in the United States and abroad. According to the filing, the proposed fund plans to invest at least 80% of its assets in stocks in the index. It can allocate up to 20% of funds in futures, options, swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. But the fund will not invest in cryptocurrencies directly or indirectly through cryptocurrency derivatives. In addition, the disclosures do not indicate the share or expense ratios planned to be issued.
