Silk Road prosecutor Katie Haun is creating a new $2.2 billion crypto fund, according to dailyhodl. The Silk Road prosecutor first came across bitcoin seven years ago after investigating prison gangs, corrupt officials and the Mafia for the U.S. Department of Justice. She will work with Andreessen-Horowitz to lead Cryptocurrency Fund III, a massive $2.2 billion venture fund that will target cryptocurrency projects and teams. in her tweet, Haun said this is the largest cryptocurrency fund ever created, a validating moment for the ecosystem and another sign that cryptocurrencies are becoming mainstream and that innovation in the space is accelerating and use cases are expanding.
In previous news, the cryptocurrency fund was launched by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with Katie Haun as one of the partners of a16z.
