Ether 2.0 transition to PoS merger specification finalized

According to Trust Nodes news, Ether 2.0 has finalized the specification for a full transition to proof-of-stake (PoS), known as a merger, according to a developer conference call. Ether developer Tim Beiko said that ETH 2.0 “now has the proper specification in terms of consensus. The specification, he said, “started as a Markdown file and evolved into the current Python executable specification. They will likely follow the same approach as ETH 1.0, which typically relies on bootstrapping through the opcode of the core EIP.
