Nobel Laureate: Bitcoin Could Completely Destroy El Salvador’s Economy

According to cointelegraph, Steve Hanke, a professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University and Nobel laureate, said that Bitcoin could completely destroy El Salvador’s economy, and that it has the potential to completely collapse the economy, as all of El Salvador’s dollars could be drained and they would lose their national currency.
Hanke, who has previously described bitcoin as a speculative asset with “essentially zero value,” is reported to have tweeted in April that “cryptocurrencies are the future of money, but bitcoin is not.”
