Legislators in Several Latin American Countries Express Interest in Bitcoin

With El Salvador passing a law to make bitcoin legal tender, parliamentarians from many Latin American countries have expressed interest in bitcoin, according to Golden 10 News. These countries include Paraguay, Argentina, Panama, Brazil and Mexico. The Tonga Islands and Tanzania have also reportedly expressed interest in bitcoin. Panamanian lawmaker Gabriel Silva congratulated El Salvador for passing the bitcoin bill and said that Panama is betting on a knowledge economy, quality education and innovative businesses in addition to developing a canal and free trade zone.
