New Zealand Lobby Writes to Prime Minister, Suggests Government Recognize Bitcoin as Foreign Currency

According to official sources, the New Zealand lobby Lobby New Zealand recently sent a letter to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern suggesting that the New Zealand government recognize Bitcoin as a foreign currency within 86 days, at which point Bitcoin will officially become legal tender in El Salvador. The New Zealand lobby argues that under New Zealand law, foreign currencies cannot be classified as assets and taxed.
