Thai SEC bans exchanges from handling four types of tokens including NFT and dogcoin

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has approved a guideline that bans the country’s cryptocurrency exchanges from supporting four different types of tokens, including NFT, under certain circumstances, according to cointelegraph.According to Friday’s announcement, the SEC said Secretary General Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol has approved cryptocurrency trading guidelines on Circular 18/2564 on “Rules, Conditions and Procedures for Engaging in the Business of Digital Assets,” which will take effect on Wednesday. The new rules prohibit Thai exchanges from dealing in mode-based (meme) tokens, fan-based tokens, NFTs, and exchange-issued tokens. Thai exchanges have 30 days to update their token listing rules to comply with the new guidelines. This policy change will reportedly affect tokens including Dogcoin (DOGE).
