Nonprofit Water Charity Announces Bitcoin Water Trust Program to Raise 100 BTC to Help Get Safe Drinking Water

Bitcoin Magazine reports that charity: water, a nonprofit organization that helps people in developing countries gain access to clean and safe drinking water, has announced its Bitcoin Water Trust Initiative, which aims to raise 100 bitcoins to advance its ongoing goal of helping to provide access to safe drinking water. The trust allows the water charity to receive and hold bitcoin donations to fund global water projects through 2025. The trust is seeking 100 individuals to donate at least one bitcoin each, and with respect to donors, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, founders of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, will donate 50 bitcoins, while other individuals who have pledged to donate include Galaxy Investment Chief Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Investment, Anthony Pompliano, co-founder of Morgan Creek, and Barry Silbert, CEO of Digital Currency Group.
