Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo will invest $4 billion in Web3

NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest mobile phone network, has pledged to invest up to 600 billion yen ($4 billion) in Web3 infrastructure, Golden Finance reported. According to a statement, the company will work with the Astar Foundation, the developer of the public blockchain Astar network, and Accenture to accelerate Web3 adoption. They will form a consortium that will allow individuals and businesses to leverage the token for governance. The Japanese government currently owns one-third of NTT Docomo’s parent company, NTT.
