Written by: Mask Network

Gitcoin , an open source software and community donation platform , has launched its 14th round of donation activities from June 8 to 23. Users can use the platform to fund outstanding open source software teams.

Mask Network is very excited to host the first ever Web3 Social Ecosystem donation event with a $50,000 bounty. After several rounds of review, 50 projects were selected for this donation round. At the same time, Mask Network is also very happy to see that about half of the projects are recommended by Mask Network, and the rest are from natural traffic, which also shows the vigorous development of social tracks in the Web3 field.

Providing funds for open source projects can promote the development of the entire blockchain ecosystem. Gitcoin adopts the quadratic voting model to crowdfund projects to realize the allocation of funds, which solves the problem of inefficient financing of public products in the Ethereum ecosystem, and encourages Minority groups vote. In each round of Gitcoin donation activities, in addition to the donations received by each project party, Gitcoin will use this as a reference to coordinate the fund allocation of the Ethereum Foundation so that high-quality projects can increase the chances of getting investment.

Gitcoin has provided $62.6 million in funding to thousands of open source projects in its first 13 grant rounds, and has also introduced several ecological and advocacy rounds to not only help builders and creators in the Web3 ecosystem, but also use two Sub-financing mechanism to support matters such as climate, Ukraine and crypto advocacy.

Introduction: Word block aims to explore new experiences between content and individuals by trying to build a “Web3 documentation system”. Creators can certify the text content they produce by using wallet signatures, and can store the text content they see everywhere in a word block object for future reference. And readers can jump directly to the original text simply by clicking on the quoted word block link.

The Word block link will be bidirectional, which means it can connect the contextual content of web2 with the idized content of Web3. When abstracting content from a web2 page (URL), it is given a parallel “identity (ID)” through the Web3 infrastructure. Things like “block quoting” and “text computation” can then be done in a Web3 environment (like IPFS), while the context is addressable on web2.

Recommended reason: WordBlock proposes an interesting attempt at the level of content value. Fragmented/paragraph content can be uploaded to the chain by means of bookmarks and clipping, and stored as a wordblock for subsequent reference and citation. On the one hand, the content is divided into smaller units for value proof, and on the other hand, it also builds a bridge for migrating web2 content to Web3, thereby building a “document library” on top of Web3.

What’s more interesting is that because it has traces on the chain, it can also form part of the identity on the chain, which makes the identity on the chain have a richer presentation and imagination space.

Phi

Introduction: Phi (philand.xyz) is a meta-domain created from ENS domains and wallet activity to easily visualize “on-chain identities”. Phi encourages users to interact with various Web3 protocols, providing positive feedback for all protocols, accelerating the overall network effect of Web3.

Users can generate personal spaces from their ENS domains and can claim objects (NFTs) based on their wallet activity. Using these objects, users can build their own Web3 worlds. Interact with protocols, collect objects, and build your own world to explore a whole new world of encryption.

Recommended reason: The user’s visual on-chain identity can be easily generated through phi.
