In 2021, the financing track of the global blockchain industry will be hot, and related industries will be popular with capital. According to incomplete statistics of 01 blockchain, in 2021, a total of 1,812 financing events will occur in the global blockchain industry, of which 1,433 disclosed the specific total financing amount, totaling 48.674 billion US dollars, and the average single financing amount reached 33.9665 million US dollars .

Regarding the statistics of financing events that reveal the specific financing amount, from the perspective of the distribution of financing amount, in 2021, 45% of the companies/project financing amount will be in the range of 1 million to 5 million US dollars, followed by companies distributed in the range of 10 million to 100 million US dollars / project, up to 25%. In addition, 16% of financing events were in the $5 million-$10 million range. It is worth noting that the financing events with the financing amount less than 1 million and more than 100 million US dollars accounted for 7%.

3.70% of blockchain investment and financing projects are strategic investments and seeds/angels

In 2021, 70% of the global blockchain industry financing events will be strategic investment and seed/angel, with 620 and 606 of the two, accounting for nearly 35%. In addition, about 14% of the projects were A rounds, 75 B rounds and 64 mergers and acquisitions.

4. The global blockchain industry financing events are unevenly distributed, the United States is about 5.1 times that of China

In 2021, there will be a total of 536 blockchain industry financing events in the United States, accounting for 42.54% of the global total. A total of 105 cases occurred in China, ranking second in the world, accounting for 8.33%. In addition, more than 50 blockchain investment and financing events have occurred in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Canada. Overall, the global blockchain industry financing events are unevenly distributed, and the United States is about 5.1 times that of China.

5. Digital asset-related and digital currency-related fields are still hot, and privacy computing is on the rise

By analyzing the sub-sectors of the blockchain companies/projects that have raised financing, it is helpful to observe the discovery status, industry scale and development trends of various blockchain-related sub-industries. Combined with the current blockchain industry structure, 01 blockchain divides the blockchain industry into blockchain bottom layer and infrastructure (bottom layer), scalable technologies and solutions (expansion layer/data layer) and industry applications (application layer). ) three major categories, which are further subdivided into more than 10 two categories, such as blockchain underlying protocols, blockchain hardware and services, scalable technologies, digital currency-related, financial application-related, physical application-related, and industry supporting services. The following table is the list of global blockchain financing in 2021. Among them, on August 31, 2021, Tencent’s major shareholder Prosus announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire Indian payment platform BillDesk for $4.7 billion to supplement its own in PayU business in India, which is also the financing event with the highest single financing amount this year.

Commission-free Internet brokerage Robinhood received a $2.4 billion strategic investment on February 2, 2021, to expand its financial education program. It was listed on Nasdaq in July of that year under the stock code HOOD, with an opening price of $38 and a total financing of $2.1 billion. This is also the second and third largest blockchain-related financing in 2021.

In 2021, the financing track of China’s blockchain industry will maintain a good momentum. According to the incomplete statistics of 01 Blockchain, in 2021, a total of 105 financing events will occur in China’s blockchain industry, of which 82 disclosed the specific total financing amount, reaching 1.736 billion US dollars, and the average single financing amount reached 21.17 million US dollars.

1. The number and amount of financing in 2021 will show an upward trend year-on-year

Observing the financing situation of China’s blockchain industry in the past six years, it can be seen that from 2016 to 2018, the number and amount of financing of blockchain companies/projects showed a significant upward trend; in 2018, the amount and amount of financing reached a peak; after 2018, The blockchain industry has returned to “rationality”, and the amount and amount of financing have begun to decline significantly. In 2021, the number and amount of financing of blockchain companies/projects will continue this general trend, but compared with 2020, the number and amount of financing in 2021 will increase.

3. Good performance in the second quarter, reaching the annual financing peak in September

In 2021, the financing situation of China’s blockchain industry will be relatively stable, with about 6-10 financing events per month. Among them, the second quarter has a good performance in terms of financing volume, with 17 in March, the highest in the whole year. Amount of financing per month. In terms of the amount of financing, a total of US$378 million was reached in September, the highest in the whole year.

4. Geographical distribution: Hong Kong ranked first in the country with 30 transactions and US$730 million

From the perspective of geographical distribution, in 2021, the financing of Chinese blockchain companies/projects will be mainly concentrated in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. These regions are economically developed, have a good innovation environment, and have more supportive policies for the development of blockchain-related industries. Therefore, blockchain companies/projects in these regions are more likely to be favored by capitalists.

In terms of the amount of financing in each region, the financing of blockchain companies/projects in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai accounted for nearly 78% of the country. Looking at the financing amount in various regions, it can be seen that the blockchain industry financing amount in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shanghai accounts for 92% of the total financing amount in the country; among them, Hong Kong is far ahead with US$730 million, accounting for more than 42% of the national total.

1. ZhongAn Technology topped the list with 2 billion yuan in financing

3. Industry applications are the most popular investment scenarios, accounting for about 67%
